Burnley vs Sheffield Utd Prediction, Betting Tips & Lineups: Can the Clarets Win Promotion?

Burnley have the chance to secure promotion to the Premier League on Monday when they host Sheffield United.
The second-placed Clarets hold a five-point lead over the third-placed Blades with three games to play. With the visitors needing a 20-goal swing to overtake Burnley on goal difference, this is effectively a must-win game for the visitors.
While a point would realistically be enough for Scott Parker’s side, they are backed to wrap up promotion with all three points.

Burnley vs Sheffield Utd Betting Tips
At the beginning of April, the battle for the Championship’s two automatic promotion spots looked set to go to the wire. However, a poor run for Sheffield United has almost certainly left them facing the playoffs, as they lost their opening three games of the month.
The Blades did bounce back with a 2-0 win over Cardiff on Friday, but they look to have too much to do. Burnley have continued to impress, winning eight of their last 10 matches.
The Clarets have won six of their last seven home games in the league, which puts them in a strong position to secure all three points.
Sheffield United’s promotion hopes look to have fallen thanks to losses to Oxford, Millwall and Plymouth over the last couple of weeks, and they have also struggled in big games. The Blades have lost home and away to Leeds, while they were beaten 2-0 at home by Burnley.
United also lost 2-1 at home to Sunderland and 1-0 at Middlesbrough. The hosts look destined for a positive result here, as they’re unbeaten at home this term, keeping clean sheets against each of the top.
Burnley have taken 20 points from 27 available against their fellow top-six sides this season, so back them at just shy of Evens to win the game and secure promotion.
While Burnley’s defensive record has been fantastic this term, the Clarets have been a little more exposed of late. They have won 2-1 in three of their last four starts, while they host a Sheffield United side who have scored exactly once in four of their last six trips.
The Blades went down 2-1 at Plymouth in their last away match, with four of their five road defeats this term coming by a single goal. The Clarets have won 12 times at home this term, three of which have been by three goals or more, while seven have been by a single goal.
The visitors are likely to be more adventurous here, given the stakes for them if they fail to win. However, Burnley have been the more impressive side of late, so back them to shade a 2-1 victory at 15/2.
