Nathan Jones has swiftly left Kenilworth Road after Stoke City came calling for the Welshman and it means that Luton Town are looking for a replacement who can help keep the Hatters in the automatic promotion race in League One.
It appears that Graeme Jones is their desired man, with Luton having asked West Brom for permission to speak with the Baggies assistant coach and BetVictor go even money about another Jones taking charge at the Bedfordshire club.
Graeme Jones has previously worked with Roberto Martinez at Swansea, Wigan and Everton, while the coach has also been part of the Belgium set-up and it’s thought that he could be open to taking his first proper management role.
If this falls through, then Paul Hurst looks like an obvious candidate, with the manager having done very well with Shrewsbury Town in League One last season where they came agonisingly close to reaching the Championship.
Although it didn’t work out for Hurst at Ipswich Town this season, Luton might consider him to be a progressive sort of manager that isn’t far away from what Nathan Jones’ approach was.
Johnnie Jackson is trading at 5/2 to replace Jones at Luton, while Stephen Robinson is now a 5/1 shot after previously trading as favourite to get the role.
It appears that those front four in the betting look the most likely, with the betting going a lot bigger and Mick Harford is a 20/1 chance.
