Manchester City are back in the Premier League title race after that hard-fought 2-1 win over Liverpool and they have subsequently scored a sum total of sixteen goals against Rotherham and Burton to progress to the FA Cup fourth round and EFL Cup final respectively.
Now Pep Guardiola’s side return to the task of retaining their domestic crown and they’re unsurprisingly massive favourites to beat Wolves on Monday night and keep within touching distance of Liverpool.
It’s hard to pick too many holes in City’s form at the Etihad Stadium where they have won ten of their eleven Premier League encounters this season, with Crystal Palace the only team to leave with the spoils.
However, they did slip up at home to Lyon in the Champions League and will be up against a Wolves side who have been ruffling the feathers of the big boys throughout the season.
Rewind back to August when these teams met at Molineux and you might remember that Wanderers had the audacity to take the lead which City were only able to cancel out come the final whistle.
Nuno’s team have also drawn away to Manchester United and Arsenal before recently going to Wembley and beating Spurs. They have also defeated Chelsea at home and won’t be going to the Etihad to defend.
Given their ability to get positive results against the leading sides, we can get with Wolves on the Asian Handicap market, with the bookies going odds-against about the Midlands side with a two-goal cushion.
It means that you can get money back if Wanderers lose by a two-goal margin, while anything better than that would mean a winning bet and we think that the visitors can keep it a lot closer than Rotherham and Burton managed.
