It’s fair to say that the majority of Strictly Come Dancing fans had never even heard of Seann Walsh before this latest series, although the comedian has effectively turned himself into a household name.
Having avoided a dance-off in Week 1 and Week 2 of the show, Walsh is now favourite to be booted off this weekend, with the tabloids having enjoyed a field day after the celebrity was photographed in a romantic clinch with Katya Jones.
The fact that both of them were in a relationship meant that scandal ensued and Walsh’s relationship with Rebecca Humphries has now come to an end, with the latter deciding to go public with the fact that her former boyfriend had previously slammed her for having doubts about his fidelity.
Meanwhile, Jones remains married and together with Neil Jones, a choreographer on the show who has previously appeared as one of the professional dancers although it appears that she and Walsh will be voted out this weekend.
Ladbrokes offer 5/4 that Seann Walsh makes an exit on Sunday, with a dance-off likely to see the judges vote him out rather than whomever he is up against.
It’s hard to see how the public will warm to him after what has happened, although Ranj Singh is a 4/1 shot and perhaps could find himself in the bottom two after only mustering 20 points last week.
Katie Piper is also 4/1 although she might retain the goodwill of a lot of female voters considering the turmoil that she has encountered throughout her life so far, while Charles Venn is a 6/1 poke in the Strictly Come Dancing betting.
Venn doesn’t appear too popular considering he was in the bottom last two last week before fending off the challenge of Lee Ryan, although his total score of 25 wasn’t too shabby and he might prosper from now onwards.
Faye Tozer, Stacey Dooley and Joe Sugg are among the favourites, with Tozer having previously been a performer in Steps and she’s as short as 7/2 with Ladbrokes to win the glitter ball come December.
Dooley has also been shining on the dancefloor and Paddy Power go 4/1 about the broadcaster going all the way, although Sugg has clearly been garnering the youth vote and perhaps he will stay out of trouble all the way to the final.
