Chelsea 7/1 to win Premier League title after St Mary’s victory

Riyad Mahrez had a chance to send Manchester City three points clear at the top of the Premier League although his missed penalty means that we go into the international break with three teams level on twenty points.

That includes second-placed Chelsea, with the London side now as short as 7/1 to reclaim the title after winning the Premier League under Antonio Conte in 2017.

Maurizio Sarri continues to insist his team are behind Manchester City and Liverpool in terms of progress, although the Italian is perhaps just taking any attention away from his team.

BetVictor offer a best price 9/1 that Chelsea land the spoils this season and that is roughly half the price you could have got at the beginning of the campaign although the London side are now unbeaten after eight games.

Manchester City remain strong favourites to retain their title, with William Hill chalking up 4/6 about a triumph for a team who will have been pleased with a draw at Anfield despite that late chance to seal victory.

Liverpool are a 13/5 poke with BetVictor to be crowned champions for the first time since 1990 although it’s been a long wait for a team who haven’t quite clicked this season.

On the flip side, the Reds have already made trips to Tottenham and Chelsea and they have now entertained Manchester City at home.

Tottenham are 33/1 and perhaps Arsenal are the forgotten team at 50/1 considering that they have won eight games consecutively and enjoying the winning habit under Unai Emery.
