Raheem Sterling has only just turned 24 although the Manchester City forward clearly has the world at his feet.
The England international is spearheading another title assault for the Citizens and his team are also favourites to win this season’s Champions League. It’s little surprise that the bookmakers have noted his excellent form.
A few weeks ago, Sterling was trading at 25/1 to be PFA Player of the Year although BetVictor now go 10/1 about the Manchester City man winning the end-of-season award and this could still be a value proposition.
After all, Sterling is among the best players in the Premier League and it appears that his fellow professionals might come out in support of someone who has been subjected to appalling media coverage over the past few years.
It is to Sterling’s credit that he continues to rise above the abuse that is received by various parties, although it’s his teammate David Silva who is current market leader and the Spaniard is currently trading at odds of 2/1.
Silva has been part of the Manchester City machine sweeping all before him and is clearly a respected professional, although a hamstring injury means we might not see a great deal of him over the festive period.
Eden Hazard is trading at odds of 5/2 although the Chelsea player has won the award before and perhaps he will simply miss out after being shortlisted considering that the Belgian hasn’t been shining particularly brightly in recent weeks.
Mohamed Salah is another market mover after a hat-trick at Bournemouth and the Egyptian was last season’s winner, with BetVictor now going 8/1 about the Liverpool man.
